Types of Power BI services
The different types of Power BI services are as follows.
●
Workspaces
●
Databases
●
Reports
●
Dashboards
Workspaces
Workspaces in Power BI services are Dashboard bins, files,
workbooks, and datasets.
There are two types of workspaces. Get more skills from Power BI Course
●
My workspace and the
●
app workspaces or
client workspace
My Workspace:
My workspace for every Power BI allows user to work on their
content is the personal workspace. Through simple steps Just you get access to My workspace. If you
want to share some of your content, you have many options: build an app
workspace where you can bundle content into an app and make it accessible to
those within your company, or build an app workspace and give colleagues access
to that workspace so you can share and collaborate.
APP Workspace:
App workspaces are used to communicate with colleagues and
share the content. They are also the places for your company to develop,
publish, and manage apps. Think of them as staging areas and containers that
will form a Power BI app for the material. You can connect colleagues and
collaborate on dashboards, analyses, workbooks and datasets to your device
workspaces. All members of the workspace app require Power BI Pro licenses, but
consumers of the app do not necessarily need Pro licenses.
Databases
Datasets are a data collection that we can use in power bi
services. You can import data or establish a connection over HTTP to cloud data
sets. Datasets apply to the workspace. We function on data within the
workspace. A dataset may be a member of several workspaces.
Data One:
●
It can be used in one
or in many workspaces time and again.
●
You can also use it in
many reportages.
●
Visualizations from
that one dataset can be displayed on various dashboards.
●
You could rename,
update, and erase datasets.
Reporting
A Power BI report is one or more visualization pages (charts
and graphs, such as line charts, pie charts, treemaps and much more). Also the
visualizations are called visuals. All of the report's visualizations derive
from a single dataset. Inside Power BI, reports can be created from scratch,
can be imported with dashboards that colleagues share with you, or can be
created when you connect to Excel datasets, Power BI Server, databases, SaaS
applications, and phones. Files can be obtained using two ways
●
To edit
●
Update
Only the person who produced the report, the co-owners and
the permission given, have access to all of Editing View's researching,
designing, creating, and sharing capabilities for that report. Then the people
they share the report which can use Reading View to explore and interact with
the Report.
Report
●
It is contained in a
single workspace that can be associated with multiple dashboards within that
workspace can appear on multiple dashboards with tiles pinned from that one
report.
●
The data can be
created from a single dataset. The small exception to this is that Power BI
Desktop can combine more than one dataset into a single report and it can be
imported by Power BI.
Dashboard
A dashboard is something that you create in a Power BI
service, or something that a colleague creates and shares with you in Power BI
service.
●
These are connected to
a single workspace
●
May view
visualizations from various datasets
●
May view
visualizations from various reports
●
Can display pinned
visualizations from other tools ( e.g., Excel)
●
Workbooks are
collections of specific data.
